We keep taking more foam out with the router in a step like patern.

We did this until we got as close to the shape as we could.

Then we sanded it down to the right shape. Here are a couple views of it.

Then we had to cut the slits in the foam for the thrust duct to alow it to bend. To cut the slits we cut two pieces 1/2 plywood, four 2.5 inch tall blocks, and two pieces of wood to connect the Two pieces of 1/2 inch plywood with the blocks on them together. Then we put this of the foam and used a hand saw to cut the slits.

Then we needed to epoxy the foam to the 1/8 inch wooden ring.

Here is a picture of the thrust duct and air box fiberglassed to the hull. To get the air box to fit against the thrust duct we had to cut 9 inches up and 9 inches deep out of the thrust duct.

next we needed to build the cockpit it is connected to the hull by a 3/8 x 3/8 inch strip which is screwed and glued on. On the top of the wall there is a 3/4 x 3/4 inch strip to keep the wall striaght.

The pole to hold the engine mount also holds the walls together. The pole goes through hull and it it epoxyed in. On the bottom of the hull the pole goes through a piece of 1/8 inch plywood.

To get the walls to bend to the shape needed we put them over a latter and tied the ends down and left them like that over night.
