First we made the engine mount out of wood so that we could figure out all of the angles and stuff so that we wouldn't mess up any steel.
The wooden mount turned out pretty good and it did help us when we were making the steel mount.
Here is all the steel for the mount. A friend of our got all the 1" and 1.25" tube for us for free.(thanks Bert) We ended up having about $20.00 in the entire mount when we were finished.
Here we have all the stuff clamped together making sure that it would fit. That piece of wood under the back legs was a jig that we made to hold them in the correct spot.
Here is the mount all tack welded together.
We decided that we would have someone else weld it because we don't really trust our welding abilties.
Here we have the hull uncovered making sure that the mount will fit, and it does.
Now we just need to get the mount welded and it will be done.
After we got the mount welded we painted it. We painted it with black matalic paint and then we put clear coat over it. You can realy tell from the picture but its really shiny.
Here is the engine on the mount finally.
